Week one of homeschooling was fun and long. Because I was sick for two weeks, I felt
rushed and not prepared as I would have liked to be. We are working on scheduling and organization…. Currently they love the schedule, me not so
much.
Wednesday I overslept and my 8
year old son called my cell phone at 8:30 and said, “Good morning mommy, it’s
time for home school”. So that was a
moment for me….
Then my 4 year old is overwhelmed because it’s usually just
the two of us and now it’s five. She
repeatedly sneak to her room instead of the bathroom to check out Disney channel
. Then she explains to me that she doesn’t
like home school anymore and that she just wants to watch Disney Channel. Next my 6 year old breezes through everything
I give her, so I will have to look for new ideas.
My 3rd grader wants me to mimic what his former
class did….. “we did math after reading
not spelling”…. “we haven’t learned that yet”…”my teacher lets me get on the computer
when I’m finished”.
My sixth grader wants to be the teacher and my dining room
is the schoolroom but I survived week one.
I'm sorry for a possible double comment. I tried to leave one from my phone and didn't succeed. I loved the honesty of your post! :) II got such a chuckle from the dialogue. I'm a new follower. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't worry - it gets smoother as time goes on!
ReplyDeleteAll the kinks will work themselves out! Be sure to give it time and don't try to rush right into everything at all at once. Be flexible and remember that life is GOING TO HAPPEN and there is NOTHING you can do about it!
